What is WRAVL?
We Rock Asheville is a nonprofit arts program that empowers youth ages 8-16, of all backgrounds and abilities, through music and social justice education. At camp, youth create an affirming and supportive space to express themselves through performance, positive identity development, musical experimentation, peer collaboration and DIY production. We are gender inclusive and trans-affirming.
Why the name change?
At the end of rock camp in 2025, our campers voted to change the name of the organization from Girls Rock Asheville to We Rock Asheville. This transition is an effort to continue our growth as a music organzation empowering youth of all genders, and is in alignment with many of our fellow member camps in the Girls Rock Camp Alliance. We are proud to honor this youth-led directive for change and are excited for our first camp ever as We Rock Asheville in 2026!
